The Government of Zimbabwe through the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe has embarked on a project to establish the Zimbabwe Liberation War Museum at the National Heroes Acre in Harare.
The goal of this is to foster sense of pride in the collective memory, history and achievements of the people of Zimbabwe in fighting colonial conquest. The museum will unpack the rich tangible and intangible heritage created by the sacrifices and commitment of freedom fighters, communities institutions and individuals to the liberation of Zimbabwe.
National Museums and Monuments is therefore calling upon everyone with information and materials related to Zimbabwe’s Liberation Struggle to come forward to the nearest National Museum and Monuments Office for recording and submissions. In addition teams will also be carrying out information and artifacts gathering exercise in all Provinces and Districts.
